The Present Continuous

Ejemplo: I am playing the guitar.

Negativo

Ejemplo: I am not playing the guitar.

Preguntas y Respuestas

Entonces… You are talking —-> Are you talking?

Ejemplo: Are you playing the guitar?

Estructura de Presente Progresiva

Positive Negative Question
I am talking
I am not talking
Am I talking?
You are talking
You are not talking
Are you talking?
He/She is talking
He/She is not talking
Is he/she talking?
We are talking
We are not talking
Are we talking?
They are talking
They are not talking
Are they talking?

Cuándo usar el presente progresivo

Usos

  • Acciones que están sucediendo ahora
  • Acciones incompletas
  • Arreglos futuros

I am writing this explanation now.

You are reading this website now.

Present continuous use 1

I am working on a big project at the moment. (el proyecto está incompleto)

I am learning how to play the guitar (No soy un experto)

Present continuous use

I am meeting my mother for lunch.

We are taking the train.

Present continuous use

  • Now
  • At the moment
  • Right now
  • Currently
  • Right away
  • Today
  • This week
  • This year
  • This evening
  • Tomorrow
  • This Saturday

Presente Progresivo Vs Presente Simple

I play football.

I am playing football.

Otro ejemplo:

He is nice

He is being nice.

I am meeting John later.

I am going to study later.

  • get
  • change
  • become
  • increase
  • rise
  • fall
  • grow
  • improve
  • begin
  • start

We are doing our homework). Algunos verbos (por ejemplo, to know y to like) no se usan normalmente de esta manera. No decimos ‘I am knowing’ o ‘They are liking’; decimos ‘I know’,’They like’.

  • like
  • want
  • need
  • prefer
  • know
  • realize
  • suppose
  • mean
  • understand
  • believe
  • remember
