Adjetivos Superlativos Exemplos, Definição e Exercício

Como estamos comparando com adjetivos, sempre usamos o verbo para estar neste tipo de frase. Você pode usar o verbo para estar com diferentes tempos (passado simples, presente simples, etc.) 

Para formar um adjetivo superlativo, adicionamos o artigo indefinido the e –est no final do adjetivo para adjetivos de uma sílaba. 

Para dois ou mais adjetivos sílabos, acrescentamos the most

Exemplos: 

Ava is the tallest girl in the class. 

The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world. 

Salvator Mundi by Leonardo da Vinci is the most expensive painting ever sold.

Lembre-se! Nós sempre usamos the antes do adjetivo!

Exceções

Adjetivos irregulares como good e bad mudanças na forma quando usamos o superlativo:

Good: the best (Bom: o melhor) 

Bad: the worst (Mau: o pior)

Far: the furthest (Longe: o mais distante)

Exemplos: 

He’s my best friend. 

That was the worst day of my life! 

That is the farthest bus stop, let’s take a taxi. 

The furthest ou the farthest? 

Nós os usamos para falar de distância.Farthest só pode ser usado para falar de distância física. Furthest também pode ser usado para idéias abstratas.

New Zealand is the farthest country from Ireland.

This is the furthest we can go in this project.

O negativo dos superlativos (the least)

Normalmente, queremos dizer que algo é o número mais alto/o mais intenso. 

Quando você precisa comparar algo como a menor quantidade de algo, então usamos the least

Lembre-se, você ainda compara uma coisa com todas as outras coisas.

Exemplos:

You are the least likely to win the competition.

This is the least spicy dish on the menu. (todas as outras opções são mais picantes!)

This phone is the least expensive phone.

Note que, no exemplo final, pode-se dizer que,“This phone is the cheapest phone” Isto é mais comum, portanto só use the least quando necessário.
