Life is TO or TOO short? Which is correct?

“Life is too short” is correct and “Life is to short” is incorrect. “Too” means the same thing as “excessively” while “to” is a preposition and part of an infinitive verb in English. 

I am working 120 hours per week.

Life is too short, you need to get out more. 

We need to use “too” because “too” means that there is excessive use of something. In this case we want to say that life is very short.

To is a preposition and part of the infinitive of a verb.

I am driving to the cinema.

I need to drink water right now.

Too is an adverb that means “also” and “excessively”.

I miss you too.

I ate too much chocolate.
